Top 5 Las Vegas Hydration Tips
Las Vegas lies close to the center of the Mojave desert and has around 300 days of sunshine per year. In summer temperatures easily hit 100.0°/40°C or higher. That's damn hot! Las Vegas is also increadibly dry and has about 21 days of rainfall per year. On paper this sounds amazing, but in reality lack of hydration can play havoc with our bodies.
Looking glamorous and feeling good can be a challenge when you're in the desert. Humidity can drop to around 10% which is extremely dry. Unprepared visitors can end up with nasal congestion, flaky skin, red eyes, and worst of all, hair like straw!
Don't let yourself shrivel up, stay hydrated. I don't mean to sound like your nagging grandma, you can still booze if you want. Just remember to have some water between cocktails so you can keep the party going. No matter how hardcore you are at home, the soaring temperatures and dry air can take its tole.
To avoid any of those nasty aforementioned side effects, follow this suggested packing list:
- Nasal saline solution
- Eye drops
- Moisturizer (skin and hair)
- Lip balm
- Water (I know you can't really pack this, but you will certainly need a lot of it!)
This list is also handy for long-haul flights. Hotel gift shops stock most of these items, otherwise go to the nearest Walgreens drugstore. They have a wider range of products and better prices. Walgreens have numerous outlets on Las Vegas Boulevard.
During winter months there is a higher humidity level of approximately 40%, so don't worry so much if you're visiting then.
