Is that alright Celine Dion?
July 25, 2015blog,Celine Dion,Celine (2011-19)
The things we do for Miss Celine Dion... Liverpool is home to the Beatles and it also happens to be where I live. By now everybody in the city of Las Vegas, and the Celine community, all know that Celine comes back to the stage on August 27th. A couple of weeks ago Celine recorded a video message asking her fans to "Be Part of the Show".
The guidelines were very simple; record a video of yourself performing Celine's hit song "I Drove All Night". You were asked to showcase your home city, either singing or lip syncing, holding up a sign stating where you're from and to fly a red balloon between you and the camera. Somehow I managed to convince my partner that it would be a great idea to join me on this venture. Off we went with a tripod, camera, balloon and card in hand, ready to go and shake our best Celine moves in the city centre!
On our way into town, by chance we drove by an 11ft mosaic replica of the Titanic. There was no way could drive past without letting our hearts go on and on a little! At this point we were feeling slightly self conscious, so we had a quick dance around and then we moved swiftly on to Liverpool's famous waterfront, the Albert Dock.
Gaining in confidence we rocked our best Celine moves around the Albert dock, with aerial views of the city from the Wheel of Liverpool, and we also had backdrops of the docks with the Beatles' Yellow Submarine and another Titanic replica was hiding just behind that. We fought through tears of laughter as we even choreographed mini routines, including air guitars and chest thumps! We ended our performance in front of one of the most iconic buildings of our city, the Liver Buildings.
Legends in Concert Review
July 5, 2015blog,Other Vegas Shows,Travel
The Las Vegas Sun has recently reviewed the "Legends in Concert" show at the Flamingo. Although I haven't seen the show personally, I plan to see it on my next Vegas visit. The show has performances by look-a-likes such as Michael Jackson, Barry White, Steven Tyler, Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, and according to LVS, they are extremely talented sound-a-likes.
I most looking forward to seeing Elisa Furr perform as Celine Dion, "[She] has always impressed me with her good looks and amazing voice. It’s just as high-note emotionally powerful as Celine’s, and if you closed your eyes, you’d believe you were across the strip at the Colosseum listening to the Canadian superstar songbird at Caesars Palace. Add Celine’s mannerisms and wardrobe, and Elisa delivers the entire package. Bravo and beautiful!" Just watch the video below, she sounds amazing to me!

In-flight Fashion - what to wear when you fly to Vegas
Epic In-flight Fashion
If you need some in-flight fashion tips on how to look super hot on your flight to Vegas, you've come to the right blog! Watching people check-in for long-haul flights from Manchester, UK to Las Vegas is more like a fashion show at the airport. Many passengers still like to dress up and look the part, in designer clothes with their designer handbags and suitcases. Then you get the other side of the coin, girls with curlers in their hair and dressed in sleep wear.
Today I saw someone in a very outlandish fancy dress costume, a man in extremely tight shorts and platform high heels! He was on a stag do (bachelor party) and he was recreating the MoneySuperMarket advert. So boys and girls, if you've got the legs, why not try this outfit for your next flight to Las Vegas? But remember, what happens at the airport will go on Facebook!
For those not familiar with the ad, take a look at the below video of Dave's #EpicStrut TV commercial:
Be a part of Celine Dion's Vegas show!
June 27, 2015blog,Celine Dion,Celine (2011-19)
Only 2 months until Celine Dion returns to the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace with her new Las Vegas show! Although not all of us can be a part of the audience, you could still be a part of the show by uploading a video clip of yourself performing "I Drove All Night". Celine has recorded a special video message which will hopefully inspire you:
Time to get your thinking cap on, be creative and don't be shy - and don't forget to get a red balloon.

Goodbye Riviera...Part 3
The doors of the Riviera casino did indeed close on May 4th. They didn't leave any time for grieving, on the very same day of closure workers removed the famous bronze bums [butts] sculpture of the Crazy Girls. The girls, and the show, are moving to Planet Hollywood. Within hours of the Riviera closure, the casino also shut down their social networks and started to take down signage and many removable fixtures from the outside of the building.
Ten days later the Riviera reopened for their "everything must go" liquidation sale. People started queueing [lining] up at 6.30am, to ensure first dibs on casino goodies when the sale started at 9am. The queues went all the way around the Riviera building and many people waiting around for 4 hours before they got inside. The crowds were there to grab a piece of Las Vegas history and to buy a bargain, because absolutely everything is for sale - even the bins [trash cans]!
Below is a collection of photos from Instagram:
If I lived in Las Vegas, there's no doubt about it, I would've pitched up on the first day with bunch of helping hands and a truck! The sale is on for a month or until everything is sold, whichever happens sooner. You can buy anything from vacuum cleaners, chandeliers, neon signs, framed artwork, kitchenware, signage, brass railings, stage equipment, you name it - literally everything has a tag on it.
Here is my photo wishlist:
But wait! All is not lost, the Neon Museum got the sign! The Riv will live on in our memories, and the glitzy sign will live on at the Neon Museum, 770 Las Vegas Boulevard North
Las Vegas, NV 89101.
